Diego Forlan scored the first hat-trick of Hero Indian Super League 2016 during Mumbai City FC’s 5-0 win over Kerala Blasters FC at the Mumbai Football Arena on Saturday evening. The Uruguayan striker netted twice in the first half before completing his hat-trick shortly after the hour mark. It was his fifth goal in Hero ISL 2016, which also made him the joint top-scorer this season. Mumbai’s win also saw them rise to the top of the table as they moved closer to a semis berth. Forlan spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the game and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts from the interview.Magnificent performance by Mumbai City FC today and you bagged yourself a hat-trick, so how does it feel?Yes, we feel really good and we needed a good game at home after a couple of losses here before and we needed the three points to get closer to the semis, and now we have two more games and they are really difficult ones. The next two games are also at home, so how much are you looking forward to replicating your performance in these upcoming games?Today was a wonderful scoreline and everybody is playing well, and today was my turn to score, with Cafu and Goian also scoring. It does not matter who scores as along as the team plays together, and hopefully we can achieve our goal of qualifying for the semis.Mumbai City have gone top of the table with a complete team performance. What do you have to say about that? Our goal is to qualify for the semis and we have a chance now and it would be our first time [in the semis], and we have two tough games now and hopefully we can get some points and qualify, and it does not matter if we are first or fourth.Any message for Mumbai City fans…I thank all fans for coming and supporting us, and we are enjoying playing at home.
