Amrinder Singh will be looking to play his first game this season when Mumbai City FC lock horns with FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Wednesday evening. The goalkeeper has recently joined the team following participation in the AFC Cup for Bengaluru FC. Mumbai City presently have 15 points from 10 games and will displace Delhi Dynamos FC at the top if they win tomorrow. Amrinder spoke to indiansuperleague.com ahead of the match and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts from the interview. You are joining the squad late due to other commitments. Your team has done very well till now. How will you personally add to their success?Of course, I joined the squad late due to my commitment with Bengaluru FC in the AFC Cup. Initially it took some time for me to gel with the team but everyone has been very helpful. I’m talking to everyone and I’m giving my 100% in training.Mumbai have good goalkeepers in the squad. How would you describe the competition to get into the starting 11?I’m giving my 110% in training. It depends on the coach who he wants to play. Whenever I get the chance, I will give my best. The last time Mumbai and Goa met earlier this season, the Gaurs got the better of Mumbai. What are your thoughts on FC Goa?Goa is a good team with a good coach. I know they have been in bad form of late but they played well in the last match and I’m looking forward to the match tomorrow.Being a goalkeeper, how important is it to have good defenders like Lucian Goian and Aiborlang Khongjee in your team? Both are very good defenders. When I arrived they were very helpful. They familiarised me with the style of play and the rest of the team. Having a good defence like our team is always a plus point.
