Jerry Lalrinzuala opened the scoring for Chennaiyin FC in their 5-4 defeat by FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Thursday. The 18-year-old did it in stunning fashion as he netted with a well-executed free-kick from the edge of the box. However, the youngster’s goal wasn’t enough for the 2015 champions as they succumbed to defeat against Goa in what was the highest-scoring match in the history of the league. Lalrinzuala, who has been a permanent fixture in Chennaiyin's backline this year, spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the match. Here are the excerpts from the interview.Difficult evening for you, what are your thoughts on the game?Today was a difficult match for us because of the travel. Sometimes in away matches you play well but things don’t go your way.You are one of the youngest members of the squad, how has the experience been this season?Today, it was the last game of the season for us. I have had a great experience and learned a lot from the senior players. I’m very happy to play for Chennaiyin, and I’m grateful that the coach gave me the opportunity to play.Do you consider Chennai to be unlucky since you came close to scoring on several occasions?Sometimes in football it happens and we just have to try our best.Do you have any favourites to win the ISL this season? The table is close with everyone having a chance to win, but I think Delhi are the favourites to win.
