Daniel Lalhlimpuia made his first appearance in Hero Indian Super League 2016 during Chennaiyin FC’s 1-1 draw against Atlético de Kolkata in front of almost 25,000 fans at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Sunday evening. The young striker came on as a first-half replacement for the injured Jeje Lalpekhlua and looked lively for the Super Machans during his 73 minutes on the pitch. He completed one successful take-on, two key passes and had 36 touches of the ball as Chennaiyin came from behind to secure a point against the 2014 winners. The 19-year-old spoke to indiansuperleague.com in an exclusive interview after the game and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts.1-1 on the night. What are your thoughts on the game?I think tonight in the second half we did really well in attack and I think we should have won the game but it’s 1-1, so it’s fair enough, and as a team I think we have done really well.Your first start for Chennaiyin, how does it feel?I think it is amazing and all the fans are supporting us very well and hopefully in the next game we will give them three points.You play again in two days’ time away at Mumbai City FC, so what are the positives you take from this game?I think if we play the way we played in the second half, then we will definitely get the three points.
