Chennaiyin FC were edged 3-2 by FC Goa in the third match of Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Sunday. After a lackluster showing in the first half, they came up with a strong display in the second to give the score-line a respectable look. The match also witnessed Baoringdao Bodo become the youngest footballer to play a match in league history. The 18-year-old from Assam spoke to indiansuperleague.com post-match and shared his thoughts on his debut. Excerpts from the interview:

First match, you must have wanted to score, but how does it feel?

It feels great for me. It is a very big achievement for me, becoming the youngest player in the Hero ISL. It gives me more confidence, so thanks for the support.

You fought very hard, but just came up short. What half-time talk did the coach give you?

The instructions were very simple. He just told us to keep going, keep on working hard, push ourselves and give our everything.

After two goalless draws, it was good to have goals. How do you think the crowd reacted to that?

The fans were great! I want to thank everyone for supporting us. It’s a good feeling, and at home it was amazing.

Lastly, how much do you learn from the likes of Jeje (Lalpekhlua) by playing with him on the pitch?

It feels good. I learn a lot of things. Not just from Jeje, but from all the other Indian and foreign players. They are very professional and slowly I am trying to get in shape with them.
