Seityasen Singh scored the opening goal during NorthEast United FC’s 2-1 win over Delhi Dynamos FC in Hero Indian Super League 2016 at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday. The Highlanders took the lead on the hour mark courtesy of Seityasen. Romaric doubled NorthEast’s lead 11 minutes later before Marcelinho pulled one back for the Lions in stoppage-time. It was Seityasen’s second goal of the season and perhaps the most important one since it kept his team’s semis hopes alive. The 24-year-old, who also completed one successful tackle, one clearance and one interception for Nelo Vingada’s men on the night, spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the game. Here are the excerpts from the interview. What are your thoughts on today’s match? This was our most important match. We knew if we did well in this game we would have a chance to qualify and get enough confidence for the latter stages. What are your thoughts on Didier Zokora’s pass?It was a brilliant pass. He put in an amazing chipped ball. You lost Nico Velez very early in the match through injury…He wasn’t injured before the game, so it was very sudden. We hope he will be fit for the next game. You have beaten Delhi, an in-form team of the league. What does it do to your confidence? This was the most important game for us as we knew a positive result would give us a big confidence ahead of the Kerala game.Even after going 2-0 up, you guys continued attacking. What was the idea behind that? They had already qualified, so it was crucial for us to win.Your next game is against Kerala away in Kochi. What do you have to say about that?We will have all our support with us and we will be high on confidenceAny word on the fans…We just want them to support us every game and hopefully we can get into the top four and challenge for the league title.
