Gustavo Lazzaretti has made 10 appearances for NorthEast United FC in Hero Indian Super League 2016 heading into their tie against FC Pune City at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on Tuesday. The centre-back has been like a rock in defence for the Highlanders and has been involved in 17 winning tackles as well as 18 interceptions. The 32-year-old Brazilian will be hoping his side pick up a win against the Stallions to snap a six-match winless run. He spoke exclusively to indiansuperleague.com ahead of the game. Here are excerpts from the interview:Two more matches for NorthEast at home, what can we expect from them?We have to play step by step. The next match is against Pune, so we know what we have to do is to qualify and we are going to fight till the end. What are you expecting from Tuesday’s game?A good game. Pune won the last game so they’re going to be confident but it’s our home and we have to play very hard and try to win. You’ve already played Pune City once, so how do you rate your opposition? When we played against them they weren’t in a good position but now things have changed. I think all the teams are equal so it’s going to be a difficult game like all the others. So, we have to do our best.NorthEast are in a very tricky position right now, how is the morale in the dressing room?Normal. We know we have to reach the final so if we want to qualify, we have to win. We don’t have an option, we have to try to win all the games and that’s what we’re going to do.Any message for the fans who have been cheering NorthEast throughout the season? Please believe in us because we guys believe we can qualify. We know that in the last six games we haven’t got any victory, so we’re trying to do this. So please come to the stadium and help us do this.
