NorthEast United FC succumbed in the dying minutes and dropped points against hosts Atlético de Kolkata at the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium on Thursday evening. The Highlanders went ahead five minutes into the game through a Nicolas Velez goal and just when they appeared to be heading towards their first win in six games, Iain Hume equalised in the last minute of normal time to rob the Highlanders of full three points. NorthEast’s Brazilian defender Gustavo Lazzaretti, who has featured in every game for the Guwahati-based team so far this season, spoke to indiansuperleague.com following his team’s 1-1 draw and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts from the interview. You must be very disappointed with the result…Yes, I am, as we were leading till the 89th minute. And the goal, we don’t know if it was offside so we leave it and move on.Where does NorthEast go from here?Well, we have more four more games and we have to win all of them to qualify for the semis, and we will fight till the end.Do you think NorthEast had many chances to finish off the game? No, I would say we didn’t have many chances. I would say two or three chances in which we should have finished the game.
