Nirmal Chettri will be in contention for a starting spot when NorthEast United FC take on Kerala Blasters FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Sunday. The match will be the final game of the league stage in Hero Indian Super League 2016 and will decide who is the last team to progress to the semis. NorthEast need a win to secure a maiden semis appearance, whereas a draw will be enough for the Blasters to book a semis berth. Chettri, who has completed six blocks, 11 interceptions, 13 successful tackles and 22 clearances for the Highlanders, spoke to indiansuperleague.com ahead of the game. Here are the excerpts from the interview.A must-win game for you tomorrow…I think it’s a very crucial game for us and we are looking forward to tomorrow’s game and we will give our best and I hope we make it to the semis. You played for Kerala in 2014. How do you feel playing against your former team?I have NorthEast United’s interests at heart as I am playing for them and I have played for a lot of teams, so there are no regrets and I have played against my former club before, so there will be no emotions involved, and I am looking to do my best tomorrow. This is the last game before the semis, so how has the season been for you?I think we started off well and there have been difficulties for the team and that is part and parcel of the game, so what has happened has happened and now we have one game to make it or break it, and we will give our best tomorrow and hope we will come back with a positive result.
