Goals from Milan Singh and Florent Malouda helped Delhi Dynamos FC to a 2-2 draw against Atlético de Kolkata at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday. The draw helped the Lions keep their unbeaten record at home intact in Hero Indian Super League 2016. Milan scored Delhi’s first of the night in the 63rd minute before Malouda netted their second 11 minutes later. The draw also saw the Lions extend their lead at the summit of the table with 17 points from 10 games. Both goal-scorers spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the match and shared their thoughts on the game. Here are the excerpts from the interview.Florent, a close encounter today. What are your thoughts on the game?I think it was entertaining for the fans and difficult for us because we were one man down very early in the game, and I think Kolkata have been one of our toughest opponents this season. It is a good result because we didn’t lose today. We showed great character and Milan found his left foot, so it is perfect.Milan, you guys came out fighting in the second half, so what did the coach tell you at the break?Basically, the coach said, ‘we have to do our best and not give up and show that we are not one man down, so we have do the best’.Florent, you guys were amazing in the second half. You scored a goal but also missed a penalty, so would you say that you are satisfied with the result? We are happy because we did not lose. That was most important, and mentally we showed great character and of course everything was not perfect as I missed a penalty but at least we created chances and never gave up, so that was good for us. We have a young team, so we must learn from our mistakes, but at the same time I am happy with our performance in a difficult situation.Milan, what do you have to say about your screamer? The goal I think I learnt from Malouda playing on the PS4 (laughs).Florent, you don’t have any home game for a while now, so how do you want to take his momentum into your upcoming away game against FC Pune City?I think we have the same objectives and we must believe in ourselves and our style of play. We must show that we are able to play this way even away. I think we are having some difficult moments as we are losing players, they are suspended, so every player has to step up for the team and show that they are ready to fight.
