Delhi Dynamos FC suffered their third loss of the season as they went down 2-1 to NorthEast United FC at Guwahati’s Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on Wednesday evening. Seityasen Singh and Romaric scored for the Highlanders before Marcelinho halved the deficit for Delhi in stoppage time. Delhi went into the match assured of a semis place, so Wednesday’s result won’t have any serious repercussions for them. However with a win, Nelo Vingada’s men have kept themselves alive in the semis hunt. Kean Lewis, highest scoring Indian this season with four goals for the Lions, spoke to indiansuperleague.com after his team’s defeat and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts from the interview.Delhi have been a free-scoring team this season. Do you think the goal came in too late today?Yeah, I think the goal came in too late. We had our chances in the first half, should have taken them but this is football. Sometimes you get a goal early on, sometimes you get it late, it’s just part of the game.It was a very even first half but it all changed in the second half. What are your thoughts on that? They played very well in the second half, so we couldn’t outplay them. We kept possession in the first half and we created a lot of chances but unfortunately couldn’t find the back of the net early in the match.0-0 at half time, what was the team talk at half time?Since we had a lot of possession, we were pretty relaxed, we didn’t get too hyper. We just adjusted a few things tactically and tried to play the second half well. How important is it to finish top of the table? It is important, we want to finish top of the group. We don’t really care about where the other teams finish. Our goal is to finish with maximum points and be top of the table and be ready for whichever team we play.
