Kean Lewis became the highest Indian scorer in Hero Indian Super League 2016 when he netted the opener in Delhi Dynamos FC’s 4-3 defeat to FC Pune City at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium in Balewadi on Friday evening. It was Lewis’ fourth goal of the season. The 24-year-old, who also completed one successful take-on and provided two key passes over the course of the 90 minutes, spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the match and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts from the interview. What are your thoughts on Delhi Dynamos FC’s performance today?I think we should have won today. Missed a few chances and we are paying the price for it again. It is important that we finish the chances that we get, since we are an attacking team. If we go up we can kill the game at 2-0 and the other teams are dead. So it’s important that we finish the game off in the first half. Today we didn’t. Fortunately, Soram Poirei kept us in the game in the first half with some brilliant saves but then we paid the price in the second half for not finishing. What are the positives from this game for your team? The good thing is that we are still top of the table and we still have games in hand. Focus is to win the next game because we need the three points, so we can relax. We have seen what happens if we stay on the back foot. We are capable of scoring goals and don’t need to wait till we are under pressure. We are an attacking team so we can put the ball in the back of the net. At the same time we need to keep an eye on our defence as well. How is the coaching staff motivating you guys? It’s been really great, coming off the last game when we were down with 10 men. We played 45 minutes with 10 men and came back with the draw. It’s been very positive and motivating. We are always in sync with them when the game is on. There are always commands coming out from the dugout to improve the game and get us into the lead.
