Cedric Hengbart played a big part in Kerala Blasters FC’s 1-0 win over Delhi Dynamos FC in the first leg of the second semi-final of Hero Indian Super League 2016 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Sunday. The 36-year-old has been a mainstay in defence for the Blasters this year and was key to securing another clean sheet for the men in yellow with a goal-line clearance to deny Marcelinho an equaliser for Delhi. The French centre-back, who also has a goal and three assists to his credit this season, spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the final whistle. Here are the excerpts from the interview.Unbeaten in last seven games here, it is really becoming a fortress? It was a great result tonight. We only lost our first match here against Kolkata after that we are unbeaten. It’s really great to have such fans, who come out and support us. Right now, I’m very happy with our performance tonight. One thing everyone noticed was that you were really fast on the counter. Was that part of the plan heading into the game?It depends on the situation and depends on the match. Today we told our goalkeeper Sandip Nandy to play the ball out fast. So we were very fast tonight but we can play differently depending on the situation.Delhi too are unbeaten at home. What are your thoughts on the next match? We are enjoying this victory. We know they are a very good team, tonight we played better than them but they are the best attack in the league, so the most important thing is to go there and play well and if we get a clean sheet there, then we are sure to reach the final.
