FC Goa bring an end to their Hero Indian Super League 2016 campaign on Thursday when they host outgoing champions Chennaiyin FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda. The Gaurs currently sit bottom of the table with 11 points from 13 games and even a win against Chennai won't see them move up in the standings.Goa head coach Zico though believes representing the passionate Gaurs supporters is all the motivation his side needs for a win tomorrow. “Motivation for us is the respect for our fans, who will be coming here to watch the match and it is to honour our jersey as we are playing for FC Goa and we are professionals and it does not matter what position we are in. Whenever we go out on the pitch we go out to win. The players are very conscious about it and there is no doubt that they will fight for the victory,” Zico told the media at the pre-match press conference. He added: “My motivation is always the fans at the club and the professionalism, and it does not matter if I won or lost. I came here with a responsibility. I am a professional and I play for the fans and we will do our best for the fans and the club.”Zico also commented on the progress made by Indian football over the past three years. “I think there has been some improvements for sure. The clubs now prepare better and sign a lot of young players and this year a lot of marquee players have made a difference, and we can see improvements comparing to the first year. You can see that all the teams that have made the top four, their marquee players have made the difference,” he said. The Brazilian legend also paid homage to the Brazilian footballers from Chapecoense, who were killed in a plane crash in Colombia yesterday. “When a tragedy like this happens then the result in a game does not matter as lives are lost and we can feel what it is as we also travel a lot to play games. I lost some close people from this crash and I have never lost so many people at once, and I am so devastated,” Zico said.“Three of our Brazilians played for Chapecoense and all of us were very sad yesterday and even the Indian players were sad because it can happen to anybody, but I don't think it will affect the practice session as it is the end of the season,” he added.
