FC Goa will look to register their second successive win when they take on Mumbai City FC in their 2016 Hero Indian Super League encounter at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Wednesday. With a last-gasp 2-1 win against NorthEast United FC in their last game last week, the Gaurs have breathed some life into their campaign but they still need to do a lot more if they are to reach the semis. They have four matches to go in the league stage and nothing other than a win on Wednesday can realistically keep them in the semis hunt. Seasoned Goa defender Debabrata Roy spoke to indiansupereague.com ahead of the clash and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts from the interview. You won the away match against Mumbai City earlier in the season and they have had a decent campaign so far. So what’s your take on them?Their passing and teamwork is really good. The plus point for them now is that they have their important players back from participation in the AFC Cup for Bengaluru FC.Goa are in a difficult situation with 10 points from 10 games. How are you dealing with the pressure? We are not under pressure. However, we just have to get points from the next game. We don’t think that we need to win games under pressure, we just need to get the points (smiling). After the first win at home in the last game, how is the morale in the team?If you look at our games, from the very first match we’ve played very well. It’s just that in some matches, we couldn’t manage to get the results and in some we did. Morale of our team after losing is very low and we are upset but we always try to make a comeback and I think that’s our plus point. This is your third season with FC Goa, how do you think the ISL will grow further in India?Future will tell us that, but anyway since it’s my third season what I feel is that in the first season we could see a lot of foreigners getting noticed. But now in the third, there have been many up-and-coming Indian players being noticed and the people also know how well Indian players play, so slowly and steadily more and more Indian players have come to the fore.
