Joffre helped FC Goa finish their 2016 Hero Indian Super League campaign on a positive note after the Gaurs edged past Chennaiyin FC 5-4 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Thursday evening. It was the last game of the season for both teams and ended in historic fashion as last year’s finalists played out the highest-scoring match in the history of the league. The diminutive Spaniard was on song for Zico’s men and completed an assist, while also getting his name on the scoresheet after converting from the penalty spot. Joffre spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the final whistle and shared his thoughts on the game. Here are the excerpts from the interview. You are ending the season on a high, so how does it feel?At least we finish with a smile and we are proud of all the Goans and Sahil as he played very well and I am very happy that we could make the fans happy.Would you like to give any message to the fans?I would like to thank the fans for supporting us in good times and in bad times. This season it was not easy for us in tough times and this is the spirit of Goa.Who is your favourite to win the ISL this season? If I have to choose, it will be between ATK and Delhi but Mumbai have a good team too.
